HOW TO GET YOUR LICENSE:

I.
Complete an approved Driver’s Education Course. The state of California allows you to complete the required course on-line. Upon completion, you will receive a: DL 400B Certificate of Completion of Driver’s Education (Blue). -OR- DL 400C Certificate of Completion of Non-Classroom Driver’s Education (Pink).

The student will then take the written test to obtain the permit at the DMV. You will have to make an appointment to be able to take the written test. You will need to provide a Birth Certificate, (original from the county you were born in), Social Security Card, Driver’s Education Completion form as described above, DL 44 (application signed by Parent(s) or Guardian, student will wait to sign at the DMV) and pay the application fee with cash, check (payable to the DMV) or debit(ATM) card. When you pass the written test, the DMV will issue you your provisional instruction permit. THE PERMIT IS NOT VALID UNTIL AFTER YOUR FIRST LESSON WITH A DRIVING INSTRUCTOR! To schedule your first lesson, call our office at 925 270-3400. The first lesson is scheduled after the permit is obtained.

Individuals under the age of 18 are required to complete a total of 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training with a licensed driving school and hold their permit for 6 months in order to take the DMV Drive Test. Upon completing the 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training, the student will receive a Certificate of Completion of Behind-The-Wheel Training. This certificate is issued to the student by the instructor on their last lesson with our school. In addition to the required 6 hours with a driving school, the State of California also requires teens to have 50 hours of driving (10 of the 50 hours at night) with a parent or licensed driver over the age of 25.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Car❤diology Driving School gives training in increments of 2 hour lessons for 3 sessions to meet the requirement. We will pick you up at home, work, or school, and take you back after your lesson or you can choose to meet at our office location in San Ramon. Lessons are available 7 days a week from 9 am to 9 pm. All cars used for training are insured, dual controlled, air conditioned, and impeccably maintained.
Process
After completing drivers education, students can present themselves to the DMV (Appointment may be required) and take the written test in order to acquire the learners permit. Once you have passed the written test and have obtained your learners permit you can schedule your driving lessons under the Services/Book Lesson tab. Your permit will be signed by the instructor after the first lesson and then you can start the 50 hours of practice with your parents.
*Cancellation Policy: Please note that any cancellation must be made at least 3 days prior to the beginning of the scheduled appointment. Any cancellation due to COVID will require a positive PCR test result to avoid a late cancellation fee. In order to reschedule a missed session after a COVID related reason, you must show a negative PCR test result. You may email this test result to info@cardiologydrivingschool@.com. Any cancellation/reschedule that does not meet this criteria will result in a fee of $70 or the lesson will be forfeited. No refunds. Please note that all package deals are valid for 1.5 years from date of first lesson.
